I want to share the spiritual blessing of the Living Waters, as described below in the scriptures. What a beautiful free gift to everyone who wants to drink of His living water. Let our hearts flow with water, that is calm, trained in the direction it should flow. A water that is not unclean to drink. Would you give a cup of water, when asked?
Bemidbar / Numbers 21:17 Yisra’el then sang this song: “Spring up, O well! Sing to it,
The words ‘water / waters’ are mentioned 345 times in the word. Our body is made up of 70% of water. The rest of the body is made up of live cells, which recreate themselves keeping the body in a constant state of renewal or life.
Does the word dehydration bring anything to mind? We cannot grow our food without watering the crops and fields, neither can we survive without drinking water. The daily intake of water keeps us hydrated. The body rids itself of waste water, urea from the kidneys. Water is the substance required for life! When going on long distance travel people take water with them, incase water is not easily found. People who exercise and who go for long distance walks and runs, take a supply of water with them.
In the desert, at very few and far places you will find an oasis of water. How would you know if there was an oasis? In the distance one would see tall trees and even palm trees as they survive very well on less intake of water, than most vegetation. Camels are known to walk hundreds of miles without needing water. Succulent plants, indigenous to the desert regions, survive for years without rain. These such species, were made for these weather conditions.

Water is vital for survival, the physical need for all creatures living on the earth. Do you see the picture? Let’s look at the beginning of creation.
Genesis 1:1 – 2 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth. 2 And the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim was moving on the face of the waters.
We cannot imagine what the earth looked like at this point, but if we were to see that the earth teamed with water so deep, that the floor of the earth was so dark; we would understand there was a LOT of water.
This will not be the first and last mention of water and it’s power in the scriptures. Physically water can be constructive and destructive, if not managed correctly. It needs to be contained, such as in lakes dams and rivers. We need water to build all kinds of structures. Reservoirs, storage tanks, buckets and our bottles are the normal receptors to contain our provisions of water.

There is a more rare and sort after source of water; springs and wells. Springs are given by Elohim and wells are dug by man. How many times do we hear of wells being dug in the scriptures? Some were even stopped up by the enemies of Israel in the lands, to cause the people of Elohim great distress and difficulties. They had very much livestock to water as well as themselves.

Geography was my most favourite subject and I loved learning about this amazing planet. Better still, I am learning of the Maker of the heavens and the earth. His desire, is what I am learning about. Writing these very posts.
I am explaining the different bodies of water and their source as well as the outcome of such water that is channeled correctly and used well. The same matter applies in the spiritual waters, that have been given to us and the use.
There was great contention in the wilderness between the rebellious children of Yisra’el and Aharon and Mosheh. As you know in the desert, water was of the essence. They did not trust that their provisions of water were possible. In Egypt the children of Jacob were enslaved for almost 400yrs. One thing, water was always in good supply in Egypt. But what about their journey from Egypt to the promised land? A lot of miracles as testing took place by Elohim upon His people. The need for water. YaHUaH had performed miracle after miracle for their freedom from slavery and we read of witness to this in the Torah. Moses kept account of everything, Elohim told Him to do. Moses walked very close to El as he was obedient in all he was told. The waters of Meribah came to me so clearly and that was last Shabbat, 13 July 2019. In Chukat / The Law or Decree Numbers 19:1 – 22:1
Moses grew very weary of the children in the desert. He experienced many times of unbelief with the people he led out of Mitsrayim, they wearied Elohim for water. YaHUaH spoke to Moses and asked him to speak to the rock before the eyes of the assembly and it would give its water.
Numbers 20:7 – 13 And YaHUaH spoke to Mosheh, saying, 8 “Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and your brother Aharon. And you shall speak to the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water. And you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their livestock.” 9 And Mosheh took the rod from before YaHUaH as He commanded him. 10 And Mosheh and Aharon assembled the assembly before the rock. And he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels, shall we bring water for you out of this rock?” 11 Then Mosheh lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod. And much water came out, and the congregation and their livestock drank. 12 But YaHUaH spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, “Because you did not believe Me, to set Me apart in the eyes of the children of Yisra’el, therefore you do not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.” 13 These were the waters of Meribah, because the children of Yisra’el contended with YaHUaH, and He was set apart among them.
Remember, Moses was just as we are today, not perfect. In fact, we know we are sinners. Although YaHUShA died for us willingly, it does not imply we are free from repenting. Every time we sin and do not repent, we are placing our salvation back on the “Stake.” Take time to be alone in the presence of the Ruach and repent.
Just a little further in Numbers Chapter 20 we read about a Messenger who was sent to deliver the assembly of Israel, (Jacob) from the Egyptians. Let’s read it.
Numbers 20:16 ‘And we cried out to YaHUaH, and He heard our voice and sent the Messenger and brought us up out of Mitsrayim. And see, we are in Qadesh, a city on the edge of your border.
The Messenger was YaHUShA! Just as, the ‘Rock’ was YaHUShA. But what about the much water that came out from the rock? What an amazing miracle to witness, ‘water gushing out of the rock and flowing in great quantity – forming a river.’ I often wonder why the assembly were not won over by the amazing miracles being performed in front of their eyes, one after another. Not won over as in how much their belief failed in Elohim through the ministry of Moses. I don’t want to judge anything, as that is not for me, I just marvel at how El provided everything. Do we grumble, I know I get to grumble and that is a failing. I am ashamed and repent. What amazing favour we have today through YaHUShA! We don’t deserve it, but He always provides.
I have explained a little about the physical water on the earth. What about the spiritual water. Many scriptures refer to the spiritual water.
In the Torah it was written, by the command of YaUHaH to Moses, that Aharon, the high priest was to be ordained and anointed with oil, after the shedding of blood through the sacrifices, then being cleansed with the sprinkling of water, as in the Mikvah or bathe of water, seven days after spiritual cleansing. The preparation for the forgiveness of sin, which was pleasing and acceptable to Him. Water was used for all cleansing in being with the right-ruling of Elohim.
Water was used greatly in the judgement of mankind;
Genesis 7:11 – 12 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the foundation of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened. 12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.
This is the story of the great flood upon the whole earth and it covered the highest mountains; verse 20
20 The waters became mighty, fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth – birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping creature that creeps on the earth, and all mankind.
I see a Mikvah here as well! A cleansing upon the earth from the sin of mankind.
Water used in deliverance; The whole chapter of Exodus 14 is a good read on this very subject.
Exodus 14:13 – 30 And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the deliverance of YaHUaH, which He does for you today. For the Mitsrites whom you see today, you are never, never to see again. 14 “YaHUaH does fight for you and you keep still.” 15 And YaHUaH said to Mosheh, “Why do you cry to Me? Speak to the children of Yisra’el, and let them go forward. 16 “And you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and let the children of Yisra’el go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 17 “And I, see I am hardening the hearts of the Mitsrites, and they shall follow them. And I am to be esteemed through Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. 18 “And the Mitsrites shall know that I am YaHUaH, when I am esteemed through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.” 19 And the Messenger of Elohim, who went before the camp of Yisra’el, moved and went behind them. And the column of cloud went from before them and stood behind them, 20 and came between the camp of the Mitsrites and the camp of Yisra’el. And it was the cloud and the darkness, and it gave light by night, and the one did not come near the other all the night. 21 And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea. And YaHUaH caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 And the children of Yisra’el went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right and on their left. 23 And the Mitsrites pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 And it came to be in the morning watch, that YaHUaH looked down upon the army of the Mitsrites through the column of fire and cloud, and He brought the army of the Mitsrites into confusion. 25 And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty. And the Mitsrites said, “Let us flee from the face of Yisra’el, for YaHUaH fights for them against the Mitsrites.” 26 Then YaHUaH said to Mosheh, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and let the waters come back upon the Mitsrites, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” 27 And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its usual flow, at the break of day, with the Mitsrites fleeing into it. Thus YaHUaH overthrew the Mitsrites in the midst of the sea, 28 And waters returned and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them, and not even one was left of them. 29 And the children of Yisra’el walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right and on their left. 30 Thus YaHUaH saved Yisra’el that day out of the hand of the Mitsrites, and Yisra’el saw the Mitsrites dead on the seashore.
Water was used for healing;
2 Kings 5: 6 – 14 And he brought the letter to the sovereign of Yisra’el, which said, “and now, when this letter comes to you, see I have sent Na’aman my servant to you, so that you shall recover him of his leprosy.” 7 And it came to be, when the sovereign of Yisra’el read the letter, that he tore his garments and said, “Am I Elohim, to kill and keep alive, that this man sends a man to me to recover him of his leprosy? For consider now, and see how he is seeking an occasion with me!” 8 And it came to be, when Elisha the man of Elohim heard that the sovereign of Yisra’el had torn his garments, that he sent to the sovereign, saying, “Why have you torn your garments? Please let him come to me, so that he knows that there is a prophet in Yisra’el.” 9 So Na’aman came with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the entrance of the house of Elisha. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go, and you shall wash seven times in the Yarden, that your flesh might be restored to you, and be clean.” 11 But Na’aman became wrath, and went away and said, “See, I said to myself, ‘He would certainly come out to me, and stand and call on the Name of YaHUaH his Elohim, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leprosy.’ 12 “Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Yisra’el? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” And he turned and went away in rage. 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had spoken to you a great mater, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 Then he went down and dipped seven times in the Yarden, according to the word of the man of Elohim. And his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
John 5:2 – 4 And in Yerushalayim at the Sheep Gate there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Beyth Zatha, having five porches. 3 In these were lying a great number of those who were sick, blind, crippled, paralysed, waiting for the stirring of the water. 4 For a messenger was going down at a certain time into the pool and was stirring the water. Whoever stepped in first, then, after the stirring of the water, became well of whatever disease he had.
Water used in Covenant; I believe these scriptures are clear that the rainbow establishes a covenant! Cloud is water vapour.
Genesis 9:11 – 17 “And I shall establish My covenant with you, and never again is all flesh cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again is there a flood to destroy the earth.” 12 And Elohim said, “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for all generations to come: 13 “I shall set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 “And it shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud, 15 and I shall remember My covenant which between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh, and never again let the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 “And the rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I shall see it, to remember the everlasting covenant between Elohim and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And Elohim said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have stablished between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
I have a photo of a ‘double rainbow’ I took many years ago. I hope to find it and then I will share it. It was amazing!!
Lastly water is used in baptism;
Matthew 3:13 – 17 Then YaHUShA came from Galil to Yohanan at the Yarden to be immersed by him. 14 But Yohanan was hindering Him, saying, “I need to be immersed by You, and You come to me?” 15 But YaHUShA answering, said to him, “Permit it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fill all righteousness.” Then he permitted Him. 16 And having been immersed, YaHUShA went up immediately from the water, and see, the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of Elohim descending like a dove and coming upon Him, 17 and see, a voice out of the heavens, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I did delight.”
Acts 2:38 And Kepha said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of YaHUShA Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit.
Yohanan / John 7:37 – 38 And on the last day, the great day of the festival, YaHUShA stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink. 38 “As the Scripture said, out of His inner-most shall flow rivers of living water.”
Yeshayahu / Isaiah 49:10 “They shall not hunger nor thirst, neither heat or sun strike them, for He who has compassion on them shall lead them, even by fountains of water guide them.
Yeshayahu / Isaiah 55:1 “O everyone who thirsts, come to the waters. And you who have no silver, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without silver and without price.
Yehezqel / Ezekiel 47:1 And he turned me back to the door of the House. And look, water was flowing from under the threshold of the House towards the east, for the House faced east, and the water was flowing from under the right side of the House, from the south of the altar.
Zekaryah / Zechariah 14:8 And in that day it shall be that living waters flow from Yerushalayim, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea, in summer as well as in winter.
Yirmeyahu / Jeremiah 17:13 O YaHUaH, the expectation of Yisra’el, all who forsake You are put to shame. “Those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken YaHUaH, the fountain of living waters.”
Yo’el / Joel 3:18 “And it shall be in that day that the mountains drip with new wine, and the hills flow with milk. And all the streams of Yehudah shall be flooded with water, and a fountain flow from the House of YaHUaH and water the wadi Shittim.
Yohanan / John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water I give him shall certainly never thirst. And the water that I give him shall become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Are you prepared to drink the water of life, as well as becoming a fountain of water, as in springing up from your being into everlasting life? I don’t want to satisfy just with a cup of water, but rather fill up daily with His living word, the waters of life. The more I drink the more ‘water’ comes flooding out of my heart. It is not only a promise, but the fruit of drinking in His truth. I want to have a dam, that keeps the blessings until the appointed time when the opening up of the gates allows the blessings to flow over. A well deep in my heart and a spring that overflows with new insight and deliverance.
Drinking of the wrong water, leads one to destruction. We are given the choice. The outcome is our responsibility.
Pour your heart out to Him, and He will respond with His rivers of living water.
Revelation 7:17 because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shall shepherd them and lead them to fountains of waters of life. And Elohim shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” and he who hears, let him say, “Come!” And he who thirsts, come! And he who desires it, take the water of life without paying!
ADDED 27 July 2019 :
I want to add here, something that is very important. Do you remember, that when the soldier pierced the side of YaHUShA after He had died, blood and water came out? Water is very symbolic of spiritual birth. You cannot enter the Kingdom unless you are born again. Remember the whole discussion Nakdimon (Nicodemus) had with YaHUShA? You cannot see the Kingdom of heaven if you are not born of the Spirit! To be born from above means, to have the Set-apart Spirit dwell in you. He will put a new spirit in you. He will take out your heart of stone and put in a heart of flesh. You have to have visual insight as well as eternal redemption. Otherwise you will never walk in His power of the Set-apart Spirit.
Yohanan / John 3:1 – 12 And there was a man of the Pharisees, Nakdimon was his name, a ruler of the Yehudim. 2 This one came to YaHUShA by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from Elohim, for no one is able to do these signs You do if Elohim is not with him.” 3 YaHUShA answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born from above, he is unable to see the reign of Elohim.”
Nakdimon did not fully understand this concept! So he asked YaHUShA another question.
Cntd … verse 4 Nakdimon said to Him, “how is a man able to be born when he is old? Is he able to enter into his mother’s womb a second time and be born?” 5 YaHUShA answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he is unable to enter into the reign of Elohim. 6 “That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You have not been born from above.” 8 “The Spirit breathes where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.” 9 Nakdimon answered and said to Him, “How is it possible for this to take place?” 10 YaHUShA answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Yisra’el, and do not know this? 11 “Truly, truly, I say to you, We speak what We know and witness what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 “If you do not believe when I spoke to you about earthly matters, how are you going to believe when I speak to you about the heavenly matters?
This very conversation should explain, that you cannot have knowledge, understanding and wisdom, without the Set-apart Spirit, as we can NEVER understand in our own understanding – IMPOSSIBLE !!!!!
Yehezqel / Ezekiel 36:26 – 27 “And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh, 27 and put My Spirit within you. And I shall cause you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings and shall do them.
ADDED 4th August 2019:
Being poured out as a drink offering, is an expression of service to Elohim. Remember in Numbers there are two chapters, where in YaHUaH tells Moses to speak to the children of Yisra’el to make a drink offering prepared with a burnt offering.
Numbers 15: 1 – 10 Numbers 28 : 1 – 8
Paul wrote about being a drink offering,
Philippians 2:17 NASB “But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.”
Philippians 2:17 SCRIPTURES In fact, even if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the offering and service of your belief, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
YaHUShA was poured out as a drink offering – in His life and suffering, in that we might believe on Him and be saved. Where are we at with our lives today? At the Feast of Sukkot, known as Feast of Tabernacles, the High Priest would throw the drink offering of water around the altar, as he walked around the altar seven times. He would go down to the Pool of Siloam in Hezekiah’s tunnel, gather water and bring it up to the altar pouring it around the altar. I mentioned the Pool of Siloam, where healing took place in the water, by the stirring of the water, by the messenger of G-d.
Isaiah 44:1 – 5 SCRIPTURES “But now hear, O Ya’acob My servant and Yisra’el whom I have chosen, 2 Thus said YaHUaH who made you and formed you from the womb, who helps you, ‘Do not fear, O Ya’acob My servant, and Yeshurun, whom I have chosen. 3 ‘For I pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring, 4 and they shall spring up among the grass like willows by streams of water.’ 5 “One says, ‘I belong to YaHUaH; another calls himself by the name of Ya’acob; another writes with his hand, ‘Unto YaHUaH,’ and names himself by the name of Yisra’el.
This is prophetic of YaHUShA’s coming, as well as the Feast of Tabernacles / Booths / Covering / Sukkah / temporary dwelling. Notice the willows are mentioned standing by streams of water. Do you know that the willow tree leaves and branches are one of the species used in making the Sukkah as well as the Lulav offering, the wave offering.
Leviticus 23:34 “Speak to the children of Yisra’el, saying, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Booths for seven days to YaHUaH.
Leviticus 23:39 ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the fruit of the land, observe the festival of YaHUah for seven days. On the first day is a rest, and on the eighth day a rest. 40 ‘And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of good trees, branches of palm trees, twigs of leafy trees, and willows of the stream, and shall rejoice before YaHUaH your Elohim for seven days.
A sukkah is built out of sticks, to form a structure, that is representative of a temporary dwelling / house. The branches – palm leaves and willow branches were the covering of the roof of the sukkah so you can see the stars. Reminds us of YaHUShA being born under a Booth, a sukkah. At this time of the year, the tribe of Yehudah, Judah are expecting the messiah to come on earth for the first time. Interesting, but I want to stay on the subject of water.
What would you say to The One who gives the Living Water?
